How we experience and manage pain is a complex and sometimes emotional process. This free lunchtime lecture took place today in Athlone Library explored our relationship with pain and painkillers and was led by Dr Gary Stack of AIT’s School of Nursing and Healthcare.

We had another successful public event in Laois last night when people gathered to learn all about the weather and the role science plays. We were delighted to welcome well-know weather forecaster, Gerald Fleming to address the audience on this very important and fascinating subject.

People of all ages enjoyed the Midlands Science Festival ‘Make Port’ workshops today in Portarlington, Co. Laois where sessions covering electronics, laser engraving and 3D printing.
“What Happens Next ?” is an interactive lecture delivered by David Featonby and is suitable for primary school classes from 4th class up. 5th & 6th Class pupils of St Kenny NS, Kilpatrick in Mullingar, enjoying the Space show delivered by Declan Holmes as part of this year’s Midlands Science Festival.
