Event Details

Discover more about archaeological artefacts from Co. Offaly, including the Dowris Hoard, with Dr Bernard Gilhooly, Assistant Keeper of Irish Antiquities from the National Museum of Ireland. This talk will examine artefacts from the county, and with Science Week in mind, we will look at some of the techniques archaeologists use to interpret objects, and how they tell stories about past peoples and societies.

This evening lecture is part of the Midlands Science Festival and is organised in collaboration with the Offaly Heritage Office and the National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology. The Midlands Science Festival is supported by the Science Foundation Ireland Discover Programme as part of national Science Week. Photo copyright: National Museum of Ireland.
