Event Details

This is the second event, in our four part series of public forums exploring science, evidence, health and medicine. Science Communities aims to build dialogue and discussion between community groups and those involved in science and public policy.

Speakers on the day will include Anne Doyle (The Health Research Board) Clodagh Crehan (The Food Safety Authority of Ireland) and Dr. Clare Reynolds (UCD).

Clodagh will provide an insight in to the rules surrounding food labelling, how these rules are decided and how the information on food labels can influence consumer choice. Clare’s talk will look at what is recommended in terms of sugar consumption, the implications of excess sugar consumption and whether sugar taxes are the best way of tackling increased sugar intakes. Anne will present the findings from a recent report published by the Health Research Board on alcohol use in Ireland and the consequences of our alcohol use.

This event is FREE and open to EVERYONE.
