Event Details

How much science in the blockbuster scientific films is science fiction or Science Faction? For Science Faction, Siobhan Hickey, Barry Fitzgerald, and Andy Gaffney (the crew of the podcast ‘Sound in Space’) will delve in to the science and s tories of three Hollywood blockbuster films.

Is it possible to clone dinosaurs, and should we have dinosaur zoos in the future just like in Jurassic Park? Could we change how time flows as shown in Tenet? And will we ever be able to control the weather from outer space as featured in Geos torm? With science almost anything is possible, but what’s the line between fiction and fact? Check out Science Faction for the answers (well some of the answers). This video is now available on the Midlands Science YouTube Channel.

This event is part of national Science Week, supported by Science Foundation Ireland.
