Offaly and a past pupil of the Sacred Heart School in Tullamore. As an undergraduate she completed two summer internships, one in TCD and one in Cambridge. In addition, since starting her PhD she has attended two further courses of study; one in Rome and one in Grenoble. In her workshop with students, she will explore what studying STEM is like and explore the different pathways and opportunities STEM presents.

Laois has been busy tackling climate change at a local level for a number of years through a range of community activities and it’s about time we highlight this work, hear about what has been happening and learn how we can get involved. Join Dr. Niamh Shaw, Laois’s science communicator in residence for climate action live from Abbeyleix as she gather together a panel of local climate heroes: scientists, ecologists, beekeepers, gardeners, and community residents. Running over three nights, we will hear the stories from nine local residents as they share the various ways we can better appreciate our beautiful county Laois, and planet Earth.
Dr. Niamh Shaw is Climate Action science communicator in residence in Abbeyleix supported by Creative Ireland Laois as part of the Creative Ireland Programme [2017-2022] in partnership with Laois County Council and Midlands Science.
